Prime Vision B.V. is an ISO-certified company run to high standards and employing high-level technology. Prime Vision´s main applications are based upon character recognition and the interpretation of postal and banking forms and other documents as well as license plates. Prime Vision offers solutions for a wide range of applications required for image interpretation thereby reducing costs and increasing productivity and quality of diverse industrial processes. Prime Vision grew out of the former KPN Research, active since 1967. During this time, the company built up more than 35 years of expertise and experience in pattern recognition. It has been developing systems capable of automatically reading handwritten information. The company is now a private partnership between Koninklijke TPG Post B.V. and TNO Bedrijven B.V. TPG is a major Dutch post delivery company and TNO is the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research. The core business of Prime Vision is charactar interpreting. Constantly the home developed algorithms are refined for optimizing recognition results. For the Danish Postal Services Prime Vision developed Parcel Vision. Postal packages are loaded on a conveire belt, each parcel is automaticly phogtographed from all sides. While the parcel moves on the PrimeVision ParcelVision module only has several seconds to interpret all images taken, to send bak the result to the parcelmanager, which in1terprets the results and instructs the hardware to direct the parcel to one of the many targetstations. Ives IT was one of the parties who was ivited by rimeVisio to develop the parcelmanager, the central unit hich controls the cameras, the belt, and talsa to ParcelVision.
